Description: Zenith Cosmopolitan reference 27.0270.298, a Swiss quartz dress watch from the late 1980s-1990s with an ultra-thin movement. Textured champagne dial with applied gold-tone Roman numerals at the cardinal positions, baton indices between & slim gold-tone hands. Swiss Made printed at the base of the dial. Gold-plated case at 28mm with engraved Roman numerals around the bezel. Brown leather strap with contrast stitching, not original.

Story of This Watch: Zenith has been making watches in Le Locle since 1865 & is best known for the El Primero chronograph movement. The Cosmopolitan sits at the other end of the range: a slim, quiet quartz dress watch from the years when Swiss makers were rebuilding around quartz. Rarity is the draw here. Pieces like this were made in far smaller numbers than Zenith’s chronographs, & a 28mm case with engraved Roman numerals on the bezel is a very different look from the usual Zenith people chase. It suits a smaller wrist, or anyone who wants a real Swiss name in a dress watch that doesn’t shout.

Condition: Great condition, rated 4/5. Dial is clean & legible with the texture & applied numerals intact. The gold plating shows wear along the bezel edge & lugs, consistent with age & regular wear. Regularly serviced & running reliably. The strap is a replacement in good order. No polishing. No box or papers.
