Description: Swatch Irony Big reference YPS405G, “Caught In A Circle”, from the 2005 core collection & part of the Petite Seconde small seconds sub-line. Swiss quartz movement running on an SR936SW battery (also sold as 394 or AG9), with the code stamped on the battery cover. Stainless steel case at approximately 40mm with an engraved fixed steel bezel. Blue dial with a waffle grid texture, full Arabic numerals, luminous hands & a date window at 3 o’clock. A small seconds sub-dial sits at 6 o’clock in light blue sunray finish. Original stainless steel bracelet.

Story of This Watch: Swatch built its name on plastic, so the Irony line, launched in 1995, was a real shift: the same playful design thinking in a full stainless steel case. The Irony Big pushed that further with a larger case that wears like a proper men’s watch, & the Petite Seconde models swapped the usual sweeping seconds hand for a small dial, which gives the face a more classic, grown-up layout. The blue waffle dial is the draw here. It takes a simple quartz watch & gives it texture & depth, something most watches at this price never bother with.
