The case shape is the talking point - angular, multi-faceted lugs with a distinctly Nautilus-adjacent profile that sets it apart from the standard round Seiko 5 lineup. Two-tone stainless steel & gold-tone case with a gold-tone crown. Original two-tone stainless & gold-tone bracelet. "Automatic 21 Jewels" printed on the lower dial. Hardlex crystal.
Story of This Watch: Seiko made a lot of Seiko 5s. Most of them are round. The 7S26-03R0 is not most of them. The angular, integrated lug design with its bevelled case architecture draws an obvious visual line toward the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak & Patek Philippe Nautilus school of sport-luxury case design - hence the nickname that collectors have attached to it. Seiko never called it the Nautilus, but the market did, & for good reason. The champagne dial & two-tone execution push it firmly into dress territory while the 7S26 inside keeps it honest as a daily automatic. These are increasingly sought after by collectors who want something with more personality than the standard round 5.
Condition: Good condition, rated 3/5. Dial shows an overall warm shift in colour tone across the entire surface - a uniform patina rather than patchy discoloration, which reads as character on a piece of this age rather than damage. Applied gold-tone indexes intact & seated correctly. Hands original & tracking well. Case & two-tone bracelet show light wear consistent with regular use. Movement running reliably. No box or papers.
