Description: Seiko Lord Matic reference 5606-5000, a striking 31x31mm square case automatic from the early 1970s on the 23-jewel Caliber 5606A movement. Deep black dial with clean, painted silver Roman numerals (XII, IX, VI, III) giving it a distinctly formal dress-watch appearance. Applied silver SEIKO logo below 12 & signature applied metallic LM monogram above 6 o'clock. Bilingual day/date display at 3 o'clock. Slightly raised square acrylic crystal following the case geometry - original crystal has a slight crack & a replacement original Seiko glass is included for easy replacement. Slim 9.5mm case profile allows it to slip easily under a shirt cuff. 21mm lug width. Stainless steel bracelet is a replacement - original bracelet not present. 21,600 vph, hand-wind & hacking functions confirmed.
Story of This Watch: While most Lord Matics explored round & cushion-case designs, the 5606-5000 was Suwa's deliberate geometric statement - a tank-style square that shifted the line into elegant structural experimentation. The black Roman numeral dial is formal without being pretentious. This is Lord Matic design at its most architectural. The square case wears significantly larger than its 31mm dimensions suggest, & the 21mm lug width creates a bold integrated look.
