Sunburst silver champagne dial with applied luminescent indices. Single sub-dial at 6 o'clock for 30-minute chronograph tracking. Pepsi "Pogue" bezel insert in red & blue showing vintage patina. Block baton hands with high-visibility orange-red chronograph hand. Date window. Black leather strap.
Story of This Watch: The Seiko 6139 earned the name "Pogue" when NASA astronaut William Pogue wore one during the 1973 Skylab 4 mission. This was the first automatic chronograph in space. Not because NASA ordered it. Because Pogue trusted it enough to take it with him. The 6139 series represents a pivotal moment in watchmaking history. Before the quartz crisis, before battery-powered chronographs, Seiko proved an automatic could wind itself & measure elapsed time simultaneously. That's why collectors hunt these pieces.
Condition: Very good condition, rated 4/5. Silver dial pristine with applied indices sharp & luminous intact. Pepsi bezel shows patina consistent with age, colors faded but legible. Stainless steel case displays minor wear & scratches. Chronograph function operational. Sub-dial clean. Date window functional.
Functional Limitation: Inner rotating bezel ring does not rotate. All other chronograph & date functions confirmed operational.
