Description: Seiko 5 Superior SKZ026 on the 23-jewel 7S36 calibre, a step above the standard Seiko 5 in both movement & execution. Black dial with a deep whirlpool micro-texture pattern that shifts between dark grey & black as the light catches it. Bold gold-tone luminous hour markers & matching gold-tone hands. Day & date window at 3 o'clock with blue Saturday indicator. Stepped case design with a gold-plated coin-edge bezel ring adding a dress-watch detail to an otherwise sport-oriented piece. Crown at 4 o'clock recessed into the case. "Water 50M Resist" & "23 Jewels" printed on the lower dial. Two-tone stainless steel & gold-tone bracelet with solid links. Story of This Watch: The Superior line was Seiko's acknowledgement in the late 1990s that the standard Seiko 5 left room for more. The 7S36 inside runs 23 jewels against the standard 7S26's 21, & the dial execution on the Superior models was consistently more ambitious - the whirlpool texture on this piece is not a print, it is a physical surface treatment that takes real tooling to produce.
