Description: Orient Three Star reference 469WA7-66, a 21-jewel automatic from the late 1960s to early 1970s. Silver sunburst dial with applied gold-tone rectangular indexes that have developed a warm cream luminous patina consistent with the era. Gold-tone dauphine hands. Day & date window at 3 o'clock. Orient crest logo & three-star designation printed cleanly on the dial alongside "Crystal 21 Jewels." Round stainless steel case with polished bezel & crown at 3 o'clock. Original stainless steel bracelet with period-correct panelled links in excellent condition.

Story of This Watch: The Orient Three Star was Japan's answer to the question of what an everyday automatic should cost & how well it should work. Positioned directly below Seiko & Citizen in terms of market prestige but never below them in terms of build quality, the Three Star line ran through the 1960s & 1970s as Orient's core volume automatic - reliable, well-finished, & honest about what it was. The 469WA7 reference is among the more desirable configurations from this period: the sunburst silver dial with cream-patina indexes & gold dauphine hands reads like a much more expensive watch from across the room.
