Description: Jaeger-LeCoultre Club Automatic day & date from the 1970s, with a Swiss automatic movement. Stainless steel round case with a wide brushed front section. Light mint-turquoise dial with chunky gold-tone block indices, a checkered outer minute track & gold-tone baton hands. Framed day & date window at 3 o’clock, with the Jaeger-LeCoultre Club name, Automatic & Swiss Made printed on the dial. Dial has been repainted. Original stainless steel link bracelet, with extra links included.
Story of This Watch: The Club line arrived in the 1970s as Jaeger-LeCoultre’s entry-level range, which makes it the most accessible way to own a name that has been behind Swiss movements since 1833. The Club range is where the brand got playful, with block indices, checkered minute tracks & colors that other houses of the time kept away from their dress watches. This one has a wide brushed face around a mint dial, which gives it a flatter, cleaner profile than the cushion-case Clubs. The dial has been repainted, & that’s reflected in the price, but the case, the bracelet & the look are what make it worth wearing.
