Description: Citizen Quartz reference 9615-S013500, a slim tank dress watch from the 1980s. Cream dial with bold black Roman numerals at all hour positions & slim black hands. Date window at 6 o'clock integrated cleanly into the lower dial. Gold-tone rectangular tank case with straight lugs & a polished finish throughout. Crown on the right side. Currently fitted on a tan/cognac brown leather strap - not the original bracelet. Japan movement confirmed on the dial.
Story of This Watch: The 1980s were peak tank. Every serious Japanese watchmaker - Seiko, Citizen, Orient - was producing rectangular dress watches that competed directly with Swiss tank designs at a fraction of the price, & Citizen's execution was consistently among the best. The 9615 reference sits in that tradition: clean Roman numerals, a slim profile, a cream dial that warms beautifully with age. These were serious dress watches for serious occasions, built by a manufacturer that understood case finishing & dial printing as well as anyone. Paired with a tan leather strap, this particular example leans into its vintage character rather than away from it.
