रु. 25000.00
Description: Citizen Cosmotron Electronic, reference GN-4W-S, powered by Citizen Calibre 7804A, from the 1970s. The Cosmotron is one of the most technically ambitious watches Japan produced in the 1970s - a hybrid electromagnetic movement that combined mechanical watchmaking with early electronic regulation, running at 36,000bph for accuracy that outperformed conventional automatics of the era. Produced for only ten years between 1966 and 1976, it represents a brief and brilliant chapter in horological history that was overtaken by the quartz revolution before it could fully mature.
The movement is a genuine engineering curiosity - a mechanical balance wheel regulated by an electromagnetic circuit, visible through the open caseback alongside the green PCB board that makes it immediately identifiable. Day correction via tilt at 12 o'clock, date correction via tilt at 6 o'clock - an ingenious setting mechanism requiring no additional crown positions.
Features a striking teal sunburst dial with applied silver baton indices, "Citizen Electronic Cosmotron" designation, and day-date display at 3 o'clock. Original stainless steel ladder-link bracelet intact. Original crystal and crown present. Stainless steel case. Water resistant confirmed on caseback.
Story of This Watch: A fully intact Cosmotron - original bracelet, original crystal, original crown - in a teal dial configuration that is among the most visually distinctive to come out of the entire production run. The hybrid movement is running, which for a 50-year-old electronic piece is itself a testament to how well this example has been preserved.
Condition: Very good vintage condition rated 4/5. Case and bracelet show honest age-appropriate wear. Teal dial clean and well-preserved. Movement running. Original bracelet, crystal, and crown all present. No box or papers.
Good Wrist Co. Assurance: Inspected and verified authentic. Reference GN-4W-S confirmed on caseback. Citizen 7804A hybrid electronic movement confirmed. All visible components consistent with period Cosmotron production. Transparent disclosure regarding absent box and papers.
